And he did, prolifically \u2013 until a recent incident forced him to stop. It began with an innocent comment on Talkin\u2019 \u2018Bout Your Generation, the hit quiz show on which Thomas leads the generation Y team.<\/p>\n

\u201d[Host] Shaun Micallef asked me who I was dressed as and I said, \u2018Gerard Way from the emo rock band My Chemical Romance\u2019,\u201d Thomas says. \u201dThat was it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Problem is, My Chemical Romance fans hate being called emos. Enraged, they flooded Thomas\u2019 Twitter page with abusive comments and threats.<\/p>\n

\u201dIt was terrifying to see how weirdly devoted people are to this band,\u201d he says. \u201dThey\u2019re like a cult. Their crazy messages were kind of fun for a while but then it got to the point where I thought, \u2018One of you might come to my house and kill me\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201dAnd I\u2019m amazed at how many of them claim that Gerard Way saved their life. Maybe he used to be a paramedic but I\u2019m pretty sure he\u2019s just a douche who writes emo rock songs.\u201d<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
